Description
Young Men of Excellence (YME) is a ministry for boys that is designed to cultivate an attitude of excellence for every area of life. This ministry creates an atmosphere where the YME are free to have fun and be themselves by providing social and cultural enrichment opportunities outside of the traditional church setting. The purpose of this is to demonstrate that God and His church are concerned about whole lives, not just church lives.

YME addresses false perceptions of manhood by teaching the true nature of manhood as defined by God and demonstrated by His sons through our roles (present and future) as sons, brothers, friends, teammates, husbands, fathers, leaders, etc. In doing this, the ministry supports parents, caregivers, and youth workers in training young men “in the way he should go” – Proverbs 22:6.

YME sponsors at least one community service/outreach project per year.

Past Events
Themes of past YME meetings include: being builders (contributing to our society), soaring in excellence, and the importance of having a good (moral) foundation. YME meetings have included activities such as: building model rockets and cars, assembling kites, playing board games, playing basketball and attending a gospel rap concert.
